Strut braces mk1

Howdy .. can you point me to which front or any other strut braces people use on there mk1 octavia from other cars ? . Seen a few but was a while ago

Are they just a bolt on job on these ?

Yeh, you've just got to drill some holes in the turrets then bolt it in place.

It's a lot easier to do if you have coilovers as there's more room to fit the bolts.

The TT lower fits as well, theres holes already in the octavia subframe, you buy the mushroom nuts and bolt into them and they expand in the hole to hold the brace in place.

Yep thats it, back in about 2006 they were only £30 from audi dealers, so might be worth a phone call to a local one, 

 

Mushroom nuts(at least thats what I called them) are like a cylinder which fits in a hole then as you tighten a bolt in it pulls down the nut to kind of squash it into place, you would need to get these from main dealer/TPS so might be worth calling them about the lot.

 

 

Riv nuts is the correct term, see the lot here
