1,9 TDI MAF Problem/no engine fault lamp

Featured Replies

Hi,

i recently bought a fabia 1,9 TDI, the car starts normaly but has no power...

I went to the mecanic and he tested the ecu whit his tester. He said the MAF Sensor shows low values and changed it..

But it doesent change a lot..

So i unplugged the MAF and tried whitout, it seems the power has raised but i dident noticed the engine fault lamp..

Is the engine fault not active when the maf sensor is unplugged?

Does the engine fault light has to show up at startup?

Is it possible that the Signal of the MAF has problems, maybee due low voltage or whatever?

Somone knows the conversion Voltage/MAF and how to test?

MAF showing low values could be because the turbo's not boosting, check it. Fault lamp should come on with the ignition then go off when the engine starts.

You may have bought a wrong 'un. Good luck.

Hi, boost is ok, goes up to 1,2 1,3 bar at 2000 rpm...

But i saw some videos on youtube, but there is no engine fault lamp shown at start?

But definately has to come on whitout MAF?

Is there a way to test?

A touch confused by what you're saying here. Does the engine fault light come on when you first turn the key to position 2? Because, if not, then attempts to use it for fault diagnosis will fail.

No, i never saw the fault light on even at startup.. Is the light disabled or just burned?

A mecanic i know attached a test tool. but there is no fault light in the testmenu..

He said it is strange..

The warning lights are LEDs, so unlikely to be burnt out.

Which light are you referring to, the engine symbol?

yes, the engine check/fault led

Well, I don't know what the fault is, but I'm now pretty sure that someone has disabled the CEL deliberately.
