Hello everyone new here. I recently bought a MK2 fabia 3 1.9 TDi PD on an 08 plate. Really pleased with it so far it's a great drive. I've ordered some new tyres as I got a puncture on one of the fronts, I've gone for a higher profile as well. The only issue I have with the car is 4th gear is a bit flat. In 3rd gear it really pulls but when you change into 4th it's nowhere near as good. I'm thinking about a remap but have some doubts. Am I right in thinking the turbo is quite small on this model? It's the 105bhp engine I've heard it's different? Is the turbo able to take any extra strain? Also how hard would it be to do a rear disc brake conversion? Thanks in advance for any help.

standard remap should take it to around 130 - 140bhp depending who you belive

Yeah the turbo is quite small, the joys of the 105bhp is having a lot of cheap 130bhp parts that bolt on. The 130bhp turbo and injectors are easily available and don't cost much, you can then expect 170 - 180bhp.

Disc rear axle is easy enough, you need the axle with calipers, discs, pads, brake hoses (they join at the axle so easy) and handbrake cables since the drum type is different.

I bought a MK2 VRS disc axle and fitted that.

Awesome thanks very much for the info. Do I need to change the turbo if wanting more power? I was only thinking of upping it to around 130bhp. Thanks again.

130 should be fine for just a remap, nothing els needed aslong as it's in good health!

Thanks for the help. Have you had yours done? Where did you get it done & was it on a rolling road? I used to use ChippedUK but according to google they no longer exist.

I have indeed remapped my 105bhp MK2, I done it myself with a cheap remap and software though.

Hi will a mk1 vrs axle fit? Is it not possible to just fit the hubs from a disc brake model along with the caliper carriers?
