Skoda Fabia VRS Temperature problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

The weekend just gone, I changed my belts and waterpump, with brand new coolant.

However I've noticed that when I'm driving after a while the water temperature, goes to 90degrees and stays there, however when ever I pull up at work and leave my car on, it then goes down to about 70-80 degrees. It never done this before I done the belts and the pump.

I have done plenty and cambelts before on my cars and never had anything like this.

Any ideas?

Maybe a bit of the water pump gasket got into the system and is lodged in the water thermostat, it's worth just checking that all is OK.

DB.

No gasket on the pump is there? Iirc it's sealed with a big rubber O ring.

What ratio of coolant have you used?

Since it's not overheating it's hardly anything to worry about. The weather has been rather cold lately and PD's are notorious for running cool at idle.
