Hi people just wondered if anyone has some suggestions -

we have a 2002 fabia 1.4mpi which has been running fine until layed up last summer awaiting daughter to pass test. It has a run out every 2 weeks or so but suddenly has  started to hold high throttle when changing up through gears 1-3 though doesnt seem to do as much in 4-5. I have checked all the various vacuum pipes / electrical connections for splits / bits bust but nothing found. No  fault codes on a vagcom check either. Its driveable but could cause worries for daughter when she passes as holding the revs between changes might throw her. It idles fine, wont do it stationary.Any thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance !!

could be the clutch switch, my 1.2 will hold the revvs & increase if you knock it out of gear without depressing the clutch
