octavia 1.4tsi 2010.. ticking?

Featured Replies

evening

so the car went in for a service: oil and filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter and brake pads were done.

since it came out of the garage i have noticed a ticking sound coming from under the car, lets say beneath the handbrake area.. its not from the engine from what i can tell, it happens when the car is idle-ing below 1000, sitting in traffic, if i take the revs up to 1000 it goes away

to be honest i have taken it back to the garage and without getting it up on a ramp, he says its probably nothing serious (!) yes i know!

thoughts?

Hi friend,

It could be the metal protector of the catalytic converter that can be trembling under circumstances in low rpm...

Don't worry it's not a point to get nervous..next time when car is lifted take a look under the car for it..

My VW Caddy van had the same issue and by pushing it a little to bend it stopped sounding like..
