Throttle body octavia 1.9tdi 2006

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all, if anyone could shed any light on this it would be greatly appreciated. My car was showing fault codes 19559 and 19557, I was informed by a mechanic that to repair this I would need a new throttle body which would be 300+vat for the part the labor on top. I done a bit of digging about and bout a pierburg throttle body from euro car parts. Now, I'm not a mechanic and have maybe bitten of more than I could chew... I replaced the part and the fault light went off on the dash board. Took it for a test drive and the car was driving horribly,  seems to have no power at all, and stuttering a bit. I lookd online again and found that I needed Vagcom to reset the alignment, so I brought it to another garage who done it and said everything should be fine now.... Drove away and the same thing was happening, the engine management came back on last  night on my extremely sluggish drive home from work!

Update, I've taken another look ad it appears that the issue was simply that I didn't put the hose which connects back onto the throttle body correctly, car is running perfectly now, only problem is I don't know how to reset the elm light, is this possible without vagcom?
