Leather Scuff repair

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Has anyone used/can recomend a way of repairing or improving a scuff on the black leather? Its a narrow scuuf about 2 inches long on the side bolster of a front seat.

I was thinking a small amount of black shoe polish maybe? rubbed in then polished off to just darken it as its grey currently which makes it quite noticable.

thanks.

Sorted. Went to Timpsons (Shoe repair type show) in town and was sold some Kiwi Shoe Leather Renovating polish.

THis comes in a silver tin and is available for all colours of leather. I bought black obviously and it looks just like normal kiwi inside.

Tried it today - used it with a new dish cloth rather than brushes. Rubed a small amount into the scuff using a finger tip, then used what was left on the cloth plus a but more to do the surrounding area, - as its the drivers side bolster nearest the door its the most work part of the seat. Instructions say to leave it for 10 mins then buf off with a clean cloth. I did this and the improvement was imediate - can hardly see the scuff now and the whole bolster looks a lot better.

I repeated the application for good measure - being sure to buf it all off when done - dont want any comming off on clothes etc.

Have to say for the
