confused about et sizes

just bought some amg alloys for my mk2 octavia, they are 5x112, et30 8.5j fronts, 5x112, et33 9j rears will they fit? i know mercedes are 66.6mm centre bore so i need 66.6 to 57.1 spigot rings i just dont understand the whole et part? basically will they fit? lol

I ran 8.5 x 18 et25 on my mk2 with no issues but it all depends on tyre size and how low you are. I was low so 225/40's where a no go, started off on 215/35 but swapped to 205/40's which were a lot better. 

Then moved up to 19's 9j front 10j rear et 30/33 with 215/35 & 225/35's which were a nightmare :D

 

The lower the et the further out they'll sit.
