power is reduced to sluggish then comes back randomly

Featured Replies

Vrs diesel 184bhp. I have a problem of the car performing at what feels like it certainly should be performing considering the power etc but randomly it will reduce to a lack of power and torque and become rather sluggish. Can change back and forth instantly and very randomly not really a pattern to it regarding engine temps etc.

Cant remember if some time ago i read a post maybe of this problem and was said to be faulty sensor somewhere, i may be wrong. I will be going back to skoda for sure but want to know if its a common issue and anyone elses experience of the same..

There was an known issue with the Boost Pressure Sensor/connector cabling on the 2L TDI engine.

Many early owners with cars from 2014 & early 2015 had problems with this.

Normally as the problem worsens it wil lead to an engine warning & MIL lamp.

How old is your car?

September 2014. Right ok. Is it a simple resolution with them or?

If it is the Boost Pressure Sensor, they should know about the issue already but timing can depend if they have the parts available.

However, I think the fix is relatively quick/simple.

I took mine to the garage in "limp-home" at 17:00 on Friday & had a phonecall at 9:00 the next morning tell me it was ready to collect with complementary wash, clean & hoover inside.

Awsome..thanking you.. ill update when im sorted..

That fix should have been done at first service. When I had my VRs oil burner they replaced that sensor as a recall item, plus the bottom trim on the steering wheel which didn't have the VRS badge on it.
