slight shake at 1 second intervals at warm idle

Featured Replies

Hey folks.

Just about to start on the upgrade path for my PD100 AXR with PD130 injectors and a turbo etc.

I've had a slight shake when warmed up and at idle (in nuetral)

just a very slight shake every second or so.

Looking at the torsion values in VCDS it sits at 0.0 most of the time with slight fluctuations to 0.6 and -0.6

I've attached a video of VCDS torsion values

I wonder if these are related?

Could it be related to something on the aux belt putting strain on the crank?

My air compressor is hooked into the belt but there is a big crack in an AC pipe so no pressure (previous crash damage), that a problem?

I don't see it as a problem really but i figure best to make sure my engine is up to handling upgrades

Not entirely certain what injectors are doing at idle with regards to stabilisation, need to check that

Will be checking under rocker cover either before i get injectors or when fitting, suspect the cam is fine

Thanks for any help!

Still not done any power upgrading but am likely about to start. I had a look at the cam and think it could be worn on some lobes.

Considering now if i should buy a complete pd130, work on it, then stick it in my ibiza 6l pd100 sport. That way i can get a lot sorted on the pd130 then put it in in a few days (hopefully!)  Maybe also a 6speed with LSD and the right driveshafts :)

I've read there can be an issue because you are moving from IMMO2 to IMMO3 going pd100 to pd130. Would the cluster/ecu/key coding need changed too if i want to keep the IMMO? Is this an issue/ something worthwhile?

Thanks!
