Hello all, I'm not having much luck searching or googling unfortunately so I'm wondering if you could help me please.

 

I am after some 312mm brake calipers and carriers for my car but not really wanting VRS red ones if I can help it. I'm just after plain silver ones that I can bolt straight on. Are there any lesser models than the VRS that have compatible 312mm brakes that will just be in a plain finish?

I don't know if the vRS spec caliper comes from any other VAG model derivatives in silver or grey.  I think on the mk6 golf they are red too?

 

There are brake remanufacturing places that will remanufacture the caliper and powder coat in any colour you like.  There are some remanufacturers who will paint the calipers for you stand alone.

Other Octavia's such as the Scout use the same callipers but only the VRS uses the 312mm carriers. Maybe some VW or Seats use 312mm carriers but I don't know which.

SEAT Leon Mk3. 1.8TSi or 2.0 184 diesel.

 

Would have thought the Octy Mk3 1.8TSi would have the same brakes, too.

Just buy the 312mm carriers and use your existing calipers.  Caliper is common to the 288mm & 312mm setup.  Only difference is the carrier & rotor

That's what I did when I fitted 312mm brakes to my mk2 Octavia Scout, just changed the carrier and fitted new discs/pads. I painted the carriers and existing callipers silver as well.

They are somewhere in the back of the garage, been sat there 18 months. Might have to get off my backside and advertise them!

I actually have some 312mm carriers in the garage but I don't think they will fit the Octy as they are off an Audi TT and were originally bought for my MK1 Fabia VRS. Sometime the carriers alone can be very expensive.

Paint the red callipers silver ?

 

failing that, a mate has a Passat 2.0 d estate - that has 312 discs on the front.
