Kenwood DNX525 bluetooth problems

Featured Replies

Wondering if anyone can help with this.

I have a kenwood DNX525dab, and a HTN One m8 with a custom rom (i know where most people are going to go with this)

When i try and play music through the bluetooth connection, i get music for 25-30 seconds followed by no music for a couple of second, a bit of music and then nothing for a second before 25-30 seconds of music again.

I have tried unpairing and removing the connection from both the phone and from the head unit. sometimes it works, but often after 1 uninterrupted trip, i get interruptions again.

i dont think its a problem with the phone and the rom as i have other bluetooth devices that it connects to with no problems, its just the kenwood that gives me a trouble.

Is there a way to reset the bluetooth module in the head unit (i have removed the battery, whilst the rest of the kenwood needed setting up, it remembered the bluetooth connections!)

If anyone had any other ideas, i'm happy to listen. the only thing i havent tried is doing a full reset on my phone, but at the mo i cant be bothered to spend the time messing around with backup and apps.

Many thanks

Is the DNX525DAB fully updated: http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/mm/firmware/2014/2014c/eng.html

Might be worth backing your ROM up and trying a stock ROM to rule out any issues there.

The Kenwood site doesn't list the M8 as compatible but I doubt that means much.

Yeah, its up to date barring an update for the dab.

Time to reset my phone this weekend then, and check the manual for the kenwood to find how to do a factory reset

had a bit more of a play over the last few days.

Noticed that when i streamed radio (Union Jack from its own app) from my phone i didnt get any stuttering at all.

so over the weekend i took the SD Card out of my phone, copied anything i wanted off it, and formatted it (full format, not a quick format) then copied stuff back

Its not completely resolved the problem, but its 90% better than it was. I'm still getting the odd little stumble rather then 10 seconds of dropped music, so i might look into formatting the other data partitions on my phone.

Thanks for the help :)
