EPC Light On

Featured Replies

I am having a problem with my Skoda Fabia 1.2 HTP  54 Plate the EPC light comes on and the car loses power and the car cannot maintain a steady idle and eventually shuts off.

I have had the car scanned and it throws up error code 17950

A mechanic has had a look at it and is puzzled because he has found water in the throttle Body plug and also in cooling temp plug. the water some how seems to be coming from the engine.

The mechanic has previously blown out both plugs and the then car drives fine, only to somehow  both plug to get water in them again.

Any ideas

The cables are full of water, you must seal them.

Could be rainwater getting into one or two wires at a point where their insulation is cracked, somewhere like under the ECU where rainwater drips. From there it could be running by capillary attraction along the stranded conductors.

Thanks Guys for quick responses.

What is the best way to rectify this problem for good. Do I need to strip anything out. I going to take to a garage what should I tell him?

Tell him the wiring loom is full of water from the scuttle.
