Yeti variant differences?

Featured Replies

I am pretty sure I'll be getting a 2nd hand Yeti when I change my VW UP. I cannot seem to find the differences in spec listed anywhere between all the variants, i.e. S, SE, Elegance. I am mostly wondering what basic extras these all come with, i.e. air con, heated seats, etc..

Is there a website that lists this out? I have done a few searches and can't find a clear laid out list.

I am personally drawn to trying to find a 1.2L DSG elegance model (probably a 2011-2013 due to cheaper price) as I've heard the 1.2L DSG is a very good engine and I am not bothered about manual or automatic. Any thoughts on what the price of a fairly low mileage one of these could be?

Thanks!

It depends on where you buy the car! price from a Skoda dealer will be higher than a private sale but you will get a warranty and on a 2011-2013 model a warranty is worthwhile on any used car.

I am selling my 2012 1.2 Tsi DSG Elegance with electric drivers seat, park assist (auto parallel parking), spare wheel and tyre pressure monitors for just under £8k as a trade in for a new Yeti. Car has been faultless apart from failed seat heater which was replaced under warranty without fuss.

A quick search of the internet will give you an idea of prices both from Skoda dealers and private sale, try Autotrader for that.

How many miles has your car done? I'm hoping to find one similar to the one you are trading in with less than 50k miles for around £8-10k ideally... I could compromise on the spec though, air con, touchscreen and electric windows are my basic wants! My UP has none of that! I could trade my UP in for about £3k.

My car has done 50,000 miles (just). I think any model of Yeti will give you the basics you require, not sure what you mean by 'touchscreen' though. Above the base model 'S' you will get most things. The Elegance models had leather heated seats, dual climatronic air con (set the temperature on the dial and never touch it again as the car automatically heats/cools to maintain that temp, and the passenger and driver can set their own individual temps). Elegance also has most of the extras anyone could want.

You could always contact the dealer who is buying my Yeti and get a price with warranty?

I mean a touchscreen 'infotainment' system, like with a satnav built in.

I'm not in the market for one just yet, I want to wait another 6 months or so to get the most out of my UP, sadly. However, I will have a Yeti within the next year!

Just found this one from an official Skoda dealership near me. This car look stunning! Good spec too!

Whats the manual like to drive? I've heard the DSG is very smooth, but haven't read much about the manual diesel.

You need to get feedback from BriSkoda members who have the Greenline model. I seem to remember it was economical but some question about performance due to high gearing to maximise fuel economy. Looks nice though and 32k is good mileage, What warranty are they offering?

I believe all Murray group dealerships offer a 1 year warranty as standard. This was what I was told when I bought my UP from a Murray dealership

You need to look for a Yeti with built in Sat Nav, will dramatically cut down your choice and maybe costly to buy mapping updates. Sure a Garmin or Tomtom wouldn't meet your needs?

If you want Nav look for 'Business Edition' models (both SE or Elegance).  I would avoid S models unless 'kit' really isn't an issue.  SE is well equipped but lacks as standard over Elegance: leather heated seats, auto lights and wipers, Xenon lights + a few other less important bits.  But ultimately many cars have options over standard so you need to check each car.

Elegance was replaced more or less by the SEL variant. These are the ones with leather heated seats and most of the neccessary extras.

Go for L&K top of range if you want more kit & sunroof as standard.
