What to Check while buying used OCTAVIA ELEGANCE?

Featured Replies

I am about to buy 1.6TDi 2013 Octavia Elegance for 9k pounds with 63k mileage on the clock. under the bonnet everrything looks pretty new to me..engine sounds very good, no vibration, gear is bit stiff..but I guess once I get use to it then it will be felt fine to me. I am wondering if it is DMF or SMF?

Does Boot pop open with the remote key..when I tried,it has just unlocked the boot and I had to manually lift the hatch up, How many CD can it hold at aa time, its bit awkward that they put cd player in the glove box.

How do I turn DLR on? Is it possible to replace it with after market LED that we can see in Mondeo or some other cars...

Early replys will be highly appreciated.thanks in advance.

I think that it has to come with DMF but in case it fails then SMF can be used instead. In this case it won't cost a fortune.

Thanks for the quick reply. What about the other features that I asked?

As per my previous post, are you sure it or a mk2 and not a mk3?

The mk2 Elegance has a Bolera radio which lets you load six CDs into the radio via a slot at the top. No CD in the glovebox.

The Mk 3 has the CD player mounted on the front of the glove box which suggests yours is a 2013 Mk 3. Take a look at the sticky threads above where you will see a thread for downloading driver handbooks and radio/CD manuals.

The gearbox on the 1.6 TDI may not be as light as in some other make of car but definitely should not be stiff.

Check it has a speed limiter if you require this, maybe on the test drive.................Oops. :x
