Featured Replies

Ok so I've ordered a maxidot cluster and a newer H slip ring for a MFSW swap

having problems sourcing the wheel

can anyone confirm what other wheels will work with this slip ring,mk3 wheel ?

ideally was looking to fit this wheel

but can source one at sensible money, what other wheels would work ?

I believe mk3 wheels are either non paddle or paddle then flat bottom or not.

The wheel will have no effect on anything else as the only part of the wheel that's connected to the car is where it's bolted to the steering column.

The mfsw switches and airbag are the parts that plug into anything.

You need superb versions as the mk3 octavia ones won't work.

The mk2 wheel which is awful in my opinion should connect without issue switch wise but will need vcds coding

No the switches won't and need replacing with superb ones.

I can tell you 100% it works as I have fitted one to my mk2 but fitting differs depending on what your car has already.

Eddie nl is your man for that info.

Isn't this the same wheel and switches though?

The wheel will work as it just bolts on.

The switches won't but you remove them and replace them with superb ones.

Please read and take on board what I am telling you.

I have done this and am telling you the switches do not work.

Octavia 3 and superb switches are a different part no.

The octavia 3 ones do not work in a mk2 octavia but superb ones do.

The wheel will bolt on no issues.

The switches need to be removed and replaced with superb ones to get them working.

Then if you have no mfsw from the factory you will need vcds coding to get it working.

As Tubbytommy said, you'll need buttons from a PQ based car such as the mk2 FL superb.

The buttons from a MQB based car such as the mk3 superb or mk3 Octavia will not work.

The wheel and airbag can come from either.
