I don't mind climbing. my 50 mile ride on Saturday was around 2100ft so should be ok.

did 60 miles on Thursday with 2400ft of climbing, did a 309ft climb on my way home to see what was left in the tank!

 

My replacement Fulcrum racing quattros arrived Saturday so I fitted these and did a 30 miler getting some PR's on a couple of tough climbs.

 

Myself and two friends are doing the 100 mile sportive, we are planning on taking a steady pace as the climbing could be a real challenge!

 

On another note fundraising hasn't really taken off lol, I've not really pushed it to be honest!

Good effort Mike I need to drag my arse off the couch and get some miles done.

I've been out twice a week since the turn of the year, feels like I've done a lot of the hard work and should pay off now the weather is improving!

Today was the big day! First 85 miles were a breeze but the last 17 miles were pure hell as most of the climbing was in the last bit!

 

downhills were on really narrow roads and very steep so didn't offer much relief! Overall very happy with my time, will be interesting to see where I finished overall. My average speed and time were better than hoped.

Thats some excellent climbing, i've only ever done 5k and that was over 70 miles.

It turns out that I am a very strong climber on short sharp hills, I got some very quick times in the stage climbs, some hills people were actually walking up due to how steep they were!

 

I think the fact I do a lot of weight lifting gives me explosive power. 

 

Need to find another event now
