Help needed Vrs TDI hesitation in 3rd plus smoke LOTS

Hi all, first off sorry for the ramble it's been a while,  I had a limited edition number 137 iirc, sold it after loss of job but have just bought a Vrs 2008 TDI estate with 179, 000 miles on the clock but seem to have a very very weird issue at the moment, the car seems to have been remapped as its hitting 26psi of boost all was well in the world until Monday night.

 

stopped for a bit to eat between jobs and when I restarted the car she was lumpy as school custard and belching whiteish grey smoke from the exhaust instantly stopped the engine and called the AA, when he turned up we tried to restart the car and no joy at all, turns out the fuel pump had seized, so today I picked the car up all happy, drove home in heavy traffic from Speke to Warrington all happy to have the car back, then it went wrong in a big way! 

 

Got to the slip road of the m62, following a lorry joined the motorway at 40 mph and opened her up to pull into the middle lane and pass the lorry in 3rd gear, next thing I knew I was driving a kangaroo! Hesitation was not the word! plumes of white grey smoke from her exhaust under load, 3rd to 6th gear was lumpy as he'll but only smoking under heaven right foot, cam off the motorway and 1st second gear she pulls like a train go to third she won't run past 2500 rpm, get home have a good look at her no mayo in the cap coolant level is spot on and clean, now come to pick the missus up from the station car running fine again. 

 

But not opened it up again, no error codes stored, no issues on idle still getting the same Adverage mpg I'm stumped big time, the egr valve was cleaned at the weekend as it had 6-10mm of carbon in it.

could be that a pipe had been disturbed by accident

Was thinking that, my main thought at th moment is fuel filter as it ran dry but was not changed. 

 

It's in the garage again today so we will see

Bugger, nope not fixed, it's running better and boosting well but on slowing down for traffic lights then the engine cut out and would not restart at all got the garage back out to it and after a spray of easy start she fired straight up and allowed me to get back to the garage, god knows what's wrong now

Off the top of my head if the vrs engine is the same as the bkd engine there should be a couple of big pipes at the bottom of the engine right at the front of the car. They could of been disturbed.
