I got today my hands on a Octavia 3 FL. I used first VCDS to look in the car for differend codings.  There are a few new modules wich VCDS did not recognise and you can't change them to.  I did look with VCP and i found out the modules are not that differend but there are a few differend codings because the Full leds and other differend options. But most off the things are still the same as the PFL.

 

I tyred to made a full adaption scan on every module but sadley this wouldn't with VCDS. I email everything i had to Ross-tech en hope there will be soon a update.

Has the CD player reappeared? 

there is still the same headunit only the screen is differend as you can see on the pictures

They removed the CD player from the glove box for a while. You only got two SD card slots, but it's back in your picture

The slot was always there as a DVD/CD player if you had the Columbus. Looking at the head unit in that FL it looks like the new Columbus.

 

No change by the looks of it. You still get the disk player with Columbus although I can't say I have ever used it in mine.

 

I am not sure how much use it is with the storage capacity on SD cards far outstripping even DL disks

 

With the problems we had with MY16 MIB2 I would steer clear of making any changes to the FL until a good few scans have gone Ross Tech's way and the same generation of modules have appeared in the US on Audi/VW for them to have a look at.

I already did a lot of coding on the Facelift. But VCDS will not support this vehicle at the moment en they need the time for the beta version. 

I'm coding everything met VCP with no problem because they already support the Facelift. And i'm coding at the dealer ( they ask me to test the FL) and when it goes wrong the put it back to factory settings. :-)
