Featured Replies

Hi all

Thinking of purchasing some alloys off eBay, 18" Audi sport alloys

They should fit the Skoda right??

Any info appreciated

Not certain about yours, but if I remove the little plastic caps covering the wheel hubs on my 2008 estate, the rear two hubs are stamped VW and the front two are stamped Audi.

Those are aftermarket replica wheels, not Audi OE. The extra bolt holes for allowing 2 different PCD fitments is a giveaway. They also look like they need a refurb: the one on the left of the picture especially, looks like it's badly kerbed and corroded.

The bolt pattern on the Mk2 Octavia is 5x112, which most VAG cars use these days. Mk4 Golf/Mk1 A3/Mk1 Octavia and anything smaller than that don't use 5x112 though. You'll need to check that the centrebore and offset are ok for your car too.

Audi sport alloys????? Looks like a VW badge to me. And a little dodgy.

PCD may be correct but check the offset. Someone else on here posted their Audi wheels on a Skoda and they were exceeding the wheel arch which would be illegal in the UK.

They would look awful on a mk2 octy. That design is over 20 years old.

Thanks for the advice everyone, i don't even know what offset my car would allow.

18x8 ET35 will be fine on the rear and poke out about 5-10mm at the front depending on the tyre (shoulder profile).

PCD needs to be 5x112.

Centrebore needs to be 57.1mm (off the top of my head).

Those are reps.  Not a bad thing but the price would have to be cheap.

The last 3 sets of wheels I've had have been Audi.  If you get late model A4 wheels the CB is 66.6mm(??) and you need hub rings.

Thanks for the advice everyone, went for these 17" Audi A3 sport alloys. Wheels and tyres £150 (very good condition) fitting/balancing £40, Skoda centre caps £7. Look smart, rides a bit firmer though.

As Vegasphil said, those 18" Audi wheels wouldn't have looked very good on your car. Also, they would have weighed a lot and affected the handling, acceleration & braking.  The wheels you ended up buying look a lot better and for what you paid for them were a real bargain.
