TRIPLE QX Antifreeze From ECP

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is this cheap coolant any good for topping up?

The coolant level on my 2009 1.2HTP is few mm down on min. It's been like this for a while, and no leaks as far as I know.

The question is, can I top up with this even if I have the older or newer coolant already in?

Thanks.

Aslong as it's described as G13 or the same colour it should be fine.

Difference is have you owned a vehicle from new, or is it new to you,.

I can tell you why you should drain and flush the old Coolant in cases where you are not sure what coolant is in.

Doing it properly and letting the system bleed and be sure the heater system has no air locks or issues.

You can not trust coolant by just the colour, so if in doubt do not take the chance of mixing types.

(some people might even have a Waterless System in. or HOAT or OAT.

Drain and flush old stuff and put in all new to the correct spec.

The other thing is someone might have added Redweld / K-seal or the likes, you might end up after draining and refilling with a leaking coolant system, but better you know and deal with that rather than get caught out later.
