VRS Squeaky/creaky drivers side rear suspension

Featured Replies

I've a 2003 108k miler vRS wagon. Started making squeaky/creaky noises on the rear suspension. Noticed recenty while going over speed bumps. I gave it a good shake at the rear today and it's squeaky/creaky. I did the same at the front and there was no noise.

Is this shocks or springs?

Could be shocks/shock bushes, worn spring seats, or possibly rear beam bushes. All these items are reasonably straightforward to check.

As above, could be a few things - but I have had this on mine, albeit at the front, and it was the rubber bushings.

Simple to check, get a can of WD40 or GT85, and spray it liberally into all the rubber bushings one by one, then shake the car each time. When you shake it and it is quiet, you know the culprit!
