About to place an order for a new Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

First time user here :)

I've got a SEAT Leon FR that's due to be replaced soon and I'm just about ready to order my next car - top of my list is an Octavia VRS 184 Hatch DSG. Moon White is my preferred colour, not sure what to do about the wheels - are the 19's uncomfortable to drive?

I've been looking on the Skoda website, but it looks like the new model specs have yet to be confirmed on there

No doubt, I'll be spending a lot of time on here in due course!

Hi,

Welcome to the site.

I borrowed a vRS it had the 19's on. On the road it was fine. The places where I began to worry was rougher roads, potholes etc. The place that I got caught out was a parking spot. A hidden in short grass was a rock, about 1.5" proud of the ground. I caught this only slowly, but boy did it make itself felt.

The vRS compared to a luxo barge is more wearing to drive as it's simply a firmer ride overall. But it's not a bone shaker hot hatch or little sports car. It might be softer than your FR, but I don't know for sure. You'll be able to put more in the boot though.

If you are looking to a new car, be sure to checkout a few key areas https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/363-new-skoda-deals/ for deals and the dealer reviews to check your local dealer is as good as the last coat of white paint looks.

There is also; not on order books yet, a vRS 254. No doubt it will have a slight bump in price, just in case petrol was something you thought about.

HTH.

19" wheels are fine, I have them on my 230 Vrs

Standard size is 225/35/19 but some have fitted 235/35/19.
