Felicia inner cv joint

Featured Replies

Hi i need to change the inner cv boot on my felicia, can i pull the shaft out without pulling the inner cv "cup" from the gearbox and cleaning the bearings and shaft and then refit them as aligned and put grease ? I want to avoid removing oil and regilling the gearbox if i can, thanks

Yeah you should be able to. If not you'll have to remove your outer joint.

If you get the inner joint separated, wrap tape around your tri-axe to stop bearings going everywhere.

Im planning to remove the whole driveshaft but cut the inner cv boot in place and leave the cup attached to the transmission so that i dont have to drain the geaebox oil

rob, you need to remove the wheel, then remove the driveshaft nut 30mm if i remember correctly(requires someone holding the brake pedal while you unscrew the nut) then remove the ball joint, next step is to remove the shaft from the hub but without pulling the shaft from the gearbox, then cut the inner boot in place and pull the shaft andd the inner cv joint cup will still be attached to the gearbox, no oil spilled! then wheen refitting just align the joint bearings with the inner cup and push it then tie the new boot that you installed enjoy :)

Many Thanks that's great will soRte it over the weekend Rob.
