215/40/17 on a lowered fabia?

Featured Replies

Morning guys,

Looking to get some new tyres on the front and the ones i want to get only come in a  215/40/17 an not a 205 width.

My question is does anyone run this size on a lowered fabia on 7j alloys and have any clearance issues

This is how low mine is

Cheers.

Let me guess... Pilot sport 4? You're probably going to struggle with 215 I think :(

You could check photos of mine as I run 215/40/17s

Love the colour of your Fabia!

No it's federal 595 RSR, can get them for a stupidly low price.

Want a change from the NS2R, haven't been impressed with them since they've got below 4.5mm, plus they seem to leak air a fair bit.

I've just done that, looks like your a similar height to me on the front. You have no issues with them? Been on track at all.

The only issue you'll have is trying to max lock it which around the track you won't be doing. Also on mine depending on the weight carried and hitting a large dip at speed you could get a slight rub of the tyres, that is on the road. Around the track I've had no other issues but do feel the extra grip is worth the above, probably more mental than actual but I prefer it.

Looks like I'll give them ago then. If they rub to much I'll get a second set of wheels and put them on for the track.
