Steering column cover clearance

Featured Replies

I've done some work on the car replacing the slip ring recently and ever since I am left with an annoying squealing sound when the steering wheel is upside down....

I tried taking it all apart again and fitting it back together but no change.... It looks like the bottom half of the steering wheel is rubbing against the top side of the steering column trim whenever it passes (especially on slow turns).

It's those small plastic bulbs the steering wheel has on its back side.... they are slowly leaving marks on the plastic already....

Any ideas on how to adjust those plastics somehow. This is a pic with the steering wheel straight. It all happens when its upside down. Basically the top plastic trim is too close to the steering wheel :(
