V8 Ute Racing!

Featured Replies

My wife and I just had a good day out watching V8 Ute racing at Manfeild Circuit in NZ :)

Supporting races included Porsches, ex-taxi V6s and truck racing!!

I'm a bit worried though - the commentators kept referring to the "safety ute" and it sounded perfectly normal to me!!

Here's some truck pics - the green one is powersliding!! And the last pic's a rather large turbo!

Ah the V8 Brutes - it's my favourite racing series. I watch it whenever they show it on Men & Motors (which appears to be random unfortunately).

It's absolutely brilliant and the commentators are fantastic, you can imagine the 3 or 4 of them sitting there with a can of XXXX and their feet on the desk watching the racing. It's a different way of life :D

True!!

Fantastic!

One of the cars in my 'fantasy garage' would have to be a V8 Holden SS Ute

There was a beauty parked up near the entrance - metallic blue with twin exhausts and "297" on the back - 297KW is nearly 400bhp - niice! Didn't take a pic cos it was parked in the shade and mucky!!

or, possibly a Ford Falcon

They're pretty much the same but I prefer the Holden :)

Imagine the face of a boy racer when he can't keep up with a pickup with some ladders and other various bits of DIY stuff  That would be sheer class.

There's usually a dog in the back too!

Although I've never seen a dog in the back of a V6 or V8 ute - guess they can't hold on!

Where can I get that turbo from then? :) And can I hybridise it with a 1.9 manifold?
