Newbie to Skoda ownership

Featured Replies

Hi

Im Fiona. I live on the Wirral and I'm a Mum of 3 little darlings. We love walking, exploring, hill climbing and generally finding quiet places to walk and escape the noise of life. For the last 5 years I've driven a little 61 plate Vauxhall Agila. Last year my parents bought their 3rd Skoda ( a very posh L&K Superb 4x4 ) they had an 08 plate Octavia Scout which they lent me ( they are amazing parents!) as I was planning a couple of holidays with my 3 kids and wasn't sure how I'd squeeze a tent in etc! Anyway I was scared witless of driving such a big car ( I had a Micra before my Agila!) but after a few days I was hooked........ I named the car and everything!

I decided then I'd be, one day, the owner of a Skoda. Looking at them all I decided an Octavia estate was best for me.

Then we rescued a small puppy......... who grew and grew faster than the enormous turnip ( it's a kids book for those who think I've just cracked up!)

so yes, I suppose I've just bought a car for the dog

Im picking him up on Friday.

I've got a 13 plate very beautiful Octavia mk2 in satin grey he's a 1.6l diesel with DSG gearbox ( I only went to change gear twice on test drive )

Any tips gratefully received!

Hi there and welcome!  Hard to beat the space in a Skoda!

Thanks :) Told the dog she's not on if she thinks she's outgrowing it! Can't wait to have the huge space to do whatever I want with.

Sounds good Fiona - hope you find some nice destinations/walks etc with your Skoda :)

Hi Dad

yes I absolutely adore him. Haven't lost him anywhere yet by looking for my old blue car!

Only hiccup so far is the perishing puppy doesn't like the boot and within 5 minutes of being in said boot had managed to dislodge the metal guard and jump into the back of the car! I'm thinking tie wraps is the way forward..... hopefully for the metal grill and not the puppy! :D

I even reverse parked him in my road last night in a tight space and didn't realise I'd done it until I got out. ( I'd been stressing a little about it being tricky to reverse park him )

guess the few months I had with Baden were useful for more than just having the boot space!
