BOV/ Recirculation valve upgrade?

Featured Replies

I've been searching around the web for a performance Recirculation valve (aka BOV.... kinda) from the 1.8tsi.

i had a billet valve on my last Nissan Juke and it really woke the engine up in the low rev area by holding more boost in the system and not just blowing it out prematurely. It was the best upgrade I did on that little Juke.

Has anyone here played w this on our Tsi engines? The low end is where this motor needs the most help in my opinion.

No one???

it made a huge difference on my Nissan. Kept the boost up so the car was always preloaded w lots of power.

You might be going into reasonably rare territory here - I havent read any post where a blow off valve for a TSi was discussed. There seems to be options for VAG 1.8 TSi BOV's on the net though. Some of the petrol VRS owners on Briskoda might be a source of info...?

Check out 'GFB DV+' for VAG TSI's

Thanks for the reply. That website is very interesting w the DV+. Never heard of them before but being Australian could be why. But it looks promising and their reasoning seems sound. Just need to investigate alittle more.

I found a couple of other options online but I could see it wasn't the big ticket item for these cars. Lol. I'll ask around on the VXR forum and see what they come back with.

I have a Synapse Recirculation Valve from my traded in Nissan. But it's a flange type valve which doesn't fit on the Tsi engine. They use an in-line type valve. It's a shame cuz the unit I have is super nice!

But it could be a smart upgrade on these turbo engines that lack bottom end response.

I thought it was not atmospheric and so no bov as so to speak of?
