OBD Bluetooth reader

Featured Replies

Just after a bit of advice folks.

On my last car (Vectra) I used to use one of these,

It worked really well with the Torque app and on many occasions proved very useful.  Now that I've got the Octavia I have found that the reader won't go far enough into the port to make a connection due to the plastic surrounding the port.  I am looking for another gadget to work with the Torque app an wondered if any of you had a reader that works on the Octavia?  I don't want to pay a fortune so if you have any suggestions for a reader under £20 let me know.

Thanks in advance.:)

I use the Carista gadget. A bit more expensive but you can modify customisations as well.

I ordered a cheapo ebay clone and it was the same for me.

I tried one of these vgates, which was a bit more expensive, but I think still a chinese clone of the originals.  I bought the wifi version but there is also bluetooth. I've used it with torque.  It fits in the OBD port and works, although it doesn't feel hugely positive in terms of fit (say compared to pushing the VCDS connector in) but it hasn't disconnected whilst I have used it.

Thanks for the replies.  I'll look into both of those as I've tended to go with the sub £10 gadgets so maybe I need to splash out and get something a bit more expensive.
