Only prob I now have is I need to stop pressing the right pedal so hard... scared my girlfriend last night!

Had my Fabia AmD one clicked recently and bye jove ! What a difference. :D Congratulations and enjoy. :D

Has anyone EVER got better mpg from remapping?

I know I couldn't stay off the loud pedal long enough if it was me!

thats the main problem, I drove graham smith's remapped furby at the cat n fiddle meet, and was WELL impressed with the results (the rest of it is standard) it drove so much better than mine does, made mine feel a bit slow :(

so a little bit of my brain keeps saying.. "re-map..." HELP! :D

If I hadn't driven it, I would be able to resist.... good job I cut my credit cards up when they arrive!

Hi

Economy does not have to suffer if you only use the extra go occasionally. The long term Superchipped Fabia in Auto express did not suffer unduly with respect to fuel consumption.

If I were going for a remap but wnating it to last, I would go for a custom map limiting torque to around 260lb/ft max and as much go at the top end as they could get, which should be something around 180 bhp, thus avoiding overworking the transmission. I would also have the map kept relatively standard at the lower engine speeds, or optimised for economy up to say 2200rpm. This is the sort of thing Jabba can do. Dont ask me how I know.

The above would keep it sweet for lessons and fun getting home (just keep an eye out for the roof board in the mirrors).

Not putting temptation in your way:rofl: , but a remap group buy is on at the moment:

lol... mmm temptation! yeah I know what your talking about for the lessons ect, custom code (which jbs can do) also have an opyion to tune it exactly how you wish (i.e. as you describe) , however, I was thinking more of a switchable one, so I could turn it on for when I go to meets, and when me an our lass go away for the weekend ect, then turn it of for dealer visits and learners... (may let them have it on for pass plus courses, what with the need to overtake and all!) and I beleive custom code do a switchable one now too! grahams was a celtic remap, and was quite smooth, not a harsh kick low down, but lots of power if you rev it, which was suprising, but good for what we might need in our job......

I'll post up if I give in to temptation.......

Say after me, "I dont need a remap!" Repeat this several times a day and then start saving!!

Ps. Dont tell SWMBO. They just dont understand do they!

Thought I would mention also, the mpg has improved a bit with the One click on. (started at 45mpg average, now 50mpg average).

Mine understands and reckons it is a good idea. Mind you she is also on my case about when we can get a TVR:thumbup:

Just born lucky I guess.
