Number of owners affecting value??

Featured Replies

I beleive it to be correct' date=' and cos you don't know what i payed i suppose you arn't in a position to say!

From when the car reaches the shores of England I know who has driven it, and I know it won't be thrashed. Which in a year old one you can't be so sure!.

it's not what you know it's who you know!

Peace of mind...... to me it is worth lots!

anyway.. i may have taken your comments wrong but.... put your dummy away.:P its only my opinion.[/quote']

strange as i cant shift my vrs with 30k on for 8500 yet !!!!

and the keevster i think it was got 10k for his with 5000 on and his was not even a year old

The only thing I'd read into them declaring one driver, is that they lied to you. If they lied about that, what else have they mislead you with?

Well, that said, doesn't it rather come down to exactly what they said? If they said "one previous keeper", they'd be telling the truth as at the time of sale:

1 previous keeper = person who dealer bought the car off.

current keeper = dealer.

Then once ruxpin has the car, it has two previous keepers...

However, yes, if they did say it has "one owner" in absolute terms then they'd be lying.

Rob.

ive seen many VRS 1 year old on auto trader that have sold for 10500. thats what made me go new.

end of the day it down to personal preference.

No you haven't. You've seen cars advertised for 10500. That doesnt mean they sold for that price

they arnt selling at that price lol they may be up for sale at that price that doesnt mean they are selling for that

i don't ring them up after they sold it and ask what deal they got.

All I see is a selling price and sold next to it.

If you bought a car 1 year earlier from drivethedeal.com and then sell it. I doubt much would be lost?

How come you can't sell the car mcbunny? how many miles on the clock?

I don't think the number of owners makes that much difference really - unless the history that goes with it is somewhat missing!

I once had a car that was 6 months old, 4k on the clock, and I was the 3rd owner!! Oh - and the car was on it's 4 reg plate

Sounds a nightmare?

Well it wasn't..... I'd known the car from new, and knew the reasons why it was the way it was......

My mate (the guy I bought it off) had had a few people walk away when they saw the paperwork that went with it, cos it did look a bit suss having that many changes of details.... but at the end of the day it was all legit and I bought myself a 6 month old car with low miles for about 20% off the 'new' price ;)

exactly pusscat, if they have a reasonable answer to all the owners why not believe them! If the car looks good , drives good and is sound mechanically who not buy it.

I think people get too sceptical about things. Think that everyone is out to do em over.

people dont buy them second hand tho at those prices as like you say for not alot more you can get brand new :)

most people don't like buying from the internet or even look. Most buy from stealers.

is this a thread "Number of owners affecting value??"

mcbunny you are going down the wrong lines. I wish you well selling your car.

Glasses Guide is what the trade use (can be accessed via the Vauxhall web site). Parkers tends to be rather too generous for real-world prices ;)

Chris

its funny my car is at the moment the cheapest vrs in the country bar the 68k mile one on trader

unlucky mate.

Wonder how glasses compares to Parkers then.

and do they look at how many drivers.....if not can't be a big deal and then the answer to the thread must be a big NO IMO ;)
