I just phoned Kwik Fit about repairing a tyre which has a screw in it. 

 

They tell me that as i have TPMS, I'll need a special cap and core (I think that was it)

 

I thought that the TPMS was based on the ABS sensor and therefore there was no special equipment on the tyre. 

 

Anyone confirm or deny?

Pretty sure the Yeti only came with indirect TPMS so any standard valve core and cap is fine.

 

Even the direct TPMS use the same valve core and caps but have a different valve stem plus the sensor

Kwik fit?....

Would be interesting to get Kwik Fit to find it

'Not Quite Fit for Purpose'  they should rename them. Fast foot dancers and prancers sometimes chancers.,

It's the only place open on Sunday (next time i can get to the garage)

Yep, just as you say the TPMS is on the wheel speed sensor / ABS system.

Cheers. Found a well recommended tyre repair guy who is hopefully coming round today. He charges the same as Kwik Fit but will come to the house :-)

Unfortunately my company car scheme only allows us to use Kwik Fit......!

Not personally had any real issues though in many years.
