Some years ago I lived in devizes for a couple of years when I was working  near Amesbury.

My bike training run was down Caen Locks and then struggle to pedal back up LOL 

I live a good 9 iron away from the flight and so have walked, ran and rode up and down the flight for a good number of years....not so much now I might add but a nice place to live for sure

Yep its an exciting ride down the towpath  - if you don't want to burn out your brakes LOL,but a lovely ride along the rest of the towpath west.

I think it was my third attempt before I managed to pedal all the way up without a stop
