Hard to get out of reverse gear - 2.0L TDI

Featured Replies

I've been having trouble getting out of reverse gear sometimes, and also first gear coming up to junctions. Quite a few postings describing this problem.

I've been looking into this, and there is a spare shim (washer) and cover that can be bought cheaply. This is for an O2M gearbox, but TPS have told me my car is an HDV gearbox, and the part isn't compatible.

The parts in question are

WHT001976 shim

02M301211B cover

and there is loads of info about the fix here (sorry it's another forum!)  http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?6089802-02M-whining-decel-noises-aftermarket-clutch-disengagement-issues-mainshaft-axial-play

Can I use these parts on my Skoda Octavia - the symptoms do seem very similar? REG is AE06FWU if anyone on here is able to look it up on a Trade site.

Thanks

I had similar issue and it was carpet on floor :-D I couldn't simply get clutch pedal 100% down
