Using Fakra DAB Splitter

Featured Replies

Recently got an upgraded Android Head Unit for my car. Very easy to install on my Monte

Would like to know is if I can get away with using a Fakra DAB splitter for the additional DAB unit that I got with it.

What I need to know is if the OEM Fabia aerial comes has a booster anywhere along the line I.e. at the base of the bee sting aerial. If the OEM FM aerial is boosted by the head unit then that's fine which means I can use the splitter. But if there is a booster along the line like mentioned the spitter won't work which means a waste of buying a splitter instead of just using the 3rd party glass mounted antenna for the DAB.

Also am i right in thinking the fabia MK II uses a diversity Antenna? As I notice the OEM unit uses a twin fakra connection. If anyone can shed some more light on this it would be much appreciated

Old thread but I have no to ask if you i ever found any answers to your be questions as im facing the same issues, but for connecting an external Tiny audio DAB receiver.

Internal or external amplifier /booster for then antenna?

Twin Fakra needed? Or is single Fakra enoug if AM is not used at all?

It's been a long time and have since sold the car and think I had to settle with the glass mount antenna in the end as couldn't justify the risk. I can't remember the rest if I'm honest sorry.
