Motecarlo, 1.2TSI 105hp 2014 Timing chain tensioner failed

Featured Replies

Hi, My tensioner failed at low revs and speed, the car juddered and stalled. It restarted and I drove home about a mile steadily. It seemed to drive normally if a little noisy. Next day it would start but not run. The check engine light was on. Pretty sure the Timing jumped a tooth.

Q. do the valves always hit the pistons?

do the valves always bend?

Might I get away with an new tensioner and re-time?

TIA
