4 wheel aligment..

Featured Replies

Has anyone had 4 wheel alignment carried out on their car ?

Mine had it done today on a hunter and apparently it was way out of the tolerances... Dont have the figures before to hand but it was all showing "red" on the system.

Car seems to drive a bit better, but it has also had new rubber on the front v the existing tyres at 2mm which always makes a big difference.

I once had a brand new Sportsback  Lancer and was not happy with handling so took it for wheel checking - all wheels were way out.  And this from the factory.

Once sorted I kept the car for 7 years.  Excellent

That would explain your wear problem...

My 230 Vrs (66 plate ) was checked 2 weeks ago, all 4 wheels out. I think there leaving the factory like this

I picked my car up on a Friday I booked it in to get the alignment done on the Monday. Steering wheel was nowhere near straight and the car was really pulling to the right.  I would have thought this would have been identified before the handover but hey ho.

It's been fine since though and dealer did rectify it satisfactorily

Because my car was the sales manager's demonstrator before I bought it, they might have sorted that out. Or, you guys were just unlucky?

I have some photos of the screen when it was been done, however i didnt get chance to take the pic from the start..

I had both my S2 and AudiTT done. Potholes damage was given as a possible cause of the misalignment.

I missed the tyre wear on the inside of the wheels. I keep a check on that now.

I believe the Sportline model sits 15mm lower than the rest of the Superb range. If so, I suppose there will be different wheel alignment settings. Does anyone know where to search for the numbers? You've all got me thinking I should have my alignment checked and wheels balanced and rotated, but it would be nice to know the workshop is working to the right settings.

The higher end alignment systems such as Hunter use a database and when the fitter enters your reg number/model the spec (obtained from the manufacturer) comes up on screen.  I think the database Hunter use is HunterNet, but that's from memory and could be wrong.

Thanks!

I had to get mind done on  17 reg superb combi, it was pulling to the right, had to be adjusted back

After 200 miles of which 140 were motorway (unloaded) the car seems a bit more planted to drive like its sitting better on the road. (this could also be due to new tyres).
