Hi

I picked up my VRS 02 reg today. Im very pleased with it but have a few things i want clearing up. Firstly i've noticed that the gearbox doesnt seem to have a return when you pull the lever to one side or the other. Is this normal? Other cars i have owned always spring to neutral when you let go of the stick. The second thing i have noticed is that the car is on 16" RS alloys not 17". Its a hatchback so was under the impression it should be on the 17".

If its on 16's it could be an Irish import. I believe that they were missing the rear wiper and had manual air con instead of Climatronic.

Sorry just had a measure they are actualy 17's. my mistake. Anyone any answers on the gear**** problem?

The gear stick should return to the middle position when out of gear. Maybe it's missing a counter-weight or something underneath.

Its definetly not right. I will book it in under warrenty to have it looked at.

Not entirely sure but there may be a spring on the lever to pull it back to the middle and perhaps this has gone AWOL....this is a problem that can occur on a Fabia but not heard of it on an Octavia before.
