Interior lights inoperative suddenly - 2012 Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I googled this issue and it brought up a similar fault to another Octavia but the thread was from 2010 so I thought I'd ask again incase there is fresh help

I bought some leds from LED Perf as I had heard they were excellent quality and were guaranteed to have no fault lights. Changed the number plate bulbs and all was well.

Then started to change glove box and boot bulbs (had to buy a new glove box lamp as it decided to implode on removal so a wee trip to TPS and £20 lighter and that was resolved) but then realised I had no interior lights in ceiling front and rear (not been changed to led yet), illumination around the main light switch, lower dash switches and the illumination on the lock / unlock button.

The other 'odd' thing that may be part of this is the hazard lights just randomly started flashing the other day (alarm issue) and I didn't connect this in my head as being linked but some googling did suggest maybe due to same issue?

Checked fuse 15 and it's fine! Any ideas lads? Head fried

Check the fuses by the steering wheel and those under the bonnet. I had the same issue and got my dealer to fix it. They simply replaced a fuse I'd put in which was the right wattage but it had failed for some reason. They never said what else they did but fixed it all for free as part of a major service so I went away partially happy that I'd got something for nothing except a bill for the other stuff.

Was fuse 15 after all. Just initially didn't look blown

Hi Guys

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but my interior lights have stopped working while changing a blown bulb. I guess the fuse has blown?

Am I right in saying fuse 15 is the one that controls the interior lights?  I was under the impression It’s a 7.5 amp fuse? Looking at what’s in my car it’s a 5amp or am I reading it wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Sorry Guys

Just found the fuse layout in my manual. Its a 5amp. Off to Halfords.
