Central locking drivers door not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got up this morning and my drivers side door was unlocked but all the others are locked, tried the fob, it locks and unlocks the rest of the doors but not the drivers side door.

It does do twice the amount of clicks/clunks and it will lock with the key.

Does it mean the motor has died?

It's a Fabia 2013 Monte carlo 21 TSI.

Thanks

Will the lock work with the key? If so, does it open/close the window if you turn and hold it? If it does not lock/unlock via key, the barrel pin might have snapped. They were prone to do this on older VW's and you can get replacement kits.

Thanks for the reply.

It does lock and unlock with the key and the windows do open/close if you hold the key in place.

Could it be a loom issue?

If it locks etc with key, I doubt its the motor. Might be worth getting a diagnostics check. It'll cost around £40 but it will tell you of any faults detected throughout the system. This sounds drastic but a negative fault find will be nice to know, a positive will give you information as to where to start. I think most main dealers perform one as part of a service anyway so if its due....
