vRS steering wheel

Featured Replies

I've noticed some vRS models have flat bottomed steering wheels, was this standard fit on dsg models or was it just an option for both the petrol and diesel?

To my knowledge, at least, all Mk3 VRS models have the flat-bottomed steering wheel - both for manual and DSG cars - as standard.

Yeah as @Ads230 said think it's standard fit.. I have a diesel and a manual and have the flat bottomed steering wheel!

Thanks, picking up my vRS tomorrow and couldn't remember if the wheel was flat bottomed.

I have a 2014 (March) Vrs hatch and the multi function steering wheel is circular which I prefer :)

Me too, it changed to flat in 2015 I think.  Does anyone know if the airbags are the same for the non flat and the flat wheel?

@Superman001 and @StephenVRS - the flat bottomed steering wheel is a revelation! Weird at first but great when you get used to it!

The car I'm picking up tomorrow is a 6 speed manual 2015 so really can't remember what wheel it has, not really bothered about it but wondered when I saw the 2 different wheels in Autotrader ads.

You'll love the car @Superman001 regardless of the steering wheel..

Yes @Superman001 you will really like the car ;-)

Early VRS had round wheels but flat bottomed ones fitted from about May 14 builds. Mine was registered June 14 and has flat bottomed wheel.

Picked the car up about an hour ago and it has the flat bottomed wheel.

Mine is built on 04/15, has the flat bottom wheel and it really grew on me.

Reminds me of the Austin Allegro's "quartic" steering wheel.
