My back box joint has started blowing on the vrs hatch tfsi any ideas on oem replacement costs, milltek around £500 cat back but selling the car in a few months :-(

If you're moving the car on soon, you could see if the hole is able to be welded. A less bodge solution that would probably be cheaper than OEM is Longlife, if you have one near to you. Fitting a Miltek would be a the most expensive solution

Thought about welding but the pipe is far to thin due to rust but i saw a place on ebay that will make up a back box for £130 stainless with choice of tips as long as the middle is ok

They are pretty loud from what I've seen, or should I say heard.  It's such a shame the resonated is considerably more.

I looked at the standard system on the car and the centre silencer is only a small cylindrical silencer not a big box muffler like milltek middle section so i think the resonated may be quiter than standard i think they fitted a bigger middle box on the facelift vrs to make it quieter as i always thought its sounded good for standard even after my old leon with cobra cat back

Yeah mine is very quiet.  It has a very subtle burble, but it's quiter than the VXR I had before and that was considered quiet.  I just think a non res miltek would be too loud for me.

I have a full mk2 TFSI exhaust in my shed if you want it
