AC noice

Featured Replies

I have just bought a "new" Fabia tsi90 2016 which has 2000km. It has Climatronoc AC. There is a slight purging or driping or shattering sound from under the dashboard. It sounds like it comes from in front of the steeringwheel or behind the radio console.

The sound is difficult to describe, but sounds like when a freezer defrosts. It's not loud, but it's heard when the radio is turned off. If I turn off the AC, it will disappear, but will return when it is switched on again. I think it  disappears if I turn the temperature up, but I'm not sure. Have just had the car for a day. I suspect that it is a normal sound that comes from some kind of defroster part in the ac, and that you have to accept this sound in a "cheap" car. But because it is a new car, I want to check it out and start asking here before I go to the Skoda dealer. Anyone who have similar sound or knowledge to share? Has googeld  but did not find anything.

Mine makes a hissing/soft gurgling sound when the refrigerator is operating (a bit like my kitchen fridge). If the dashboard is warm, it'll make clicking noises for a few minutes as it cools down.
