Oil leak

Featured Replies

Hello people,

I was looking at a 2012 skoda fabia 16 TDI CR estate. The last MOT reported oil leak around the injectors and a slight misting on the sump. Should I run a mile or could it just be breathing? Sorry for the daft question! (Still learning). The has done 26500 genuine miles,

Thanks in advance..

Around injectors could be spillage from oil change as for sump my sump has a fibre cover and an engine undertray so nearly impossible to see actual sump

Cheers! It would appear very odd to get an injector leak at 26000?

unless they where reconditioned or replaced for some reason I've 174k on my 2011 and it's bone dry at injectors

Not that odd as VW Golf 1.6TDI's were suffering from that very thing.

What year golfs as I'm looking at one(2013) in the morning for work colleague

I have been told the injectors on the 3 cyl diesel engine take a lot of vibration so can suffer, wear rapidly and need (fairly costly) replacement.
