I have been looking at a Mk2 vRS Blackline that appears to have a darker set of numbering on the gear knob compared to other identical models.

 

I have enquired with the trade seller who has advised me that the previous owner appears to have painted this black.

 

Other this the car is described as standard and I'm hoping this isn't a sign of other modifications, this one having not been reversed.

 

Has anybody come across this before?

Yeah my 2011 FL is fairly dark, like a heavy smoke tint. It is, as far as I can tell how it came from the factory.
