Radiator bushes need replacing, how?

Featured Replies

Fitted some new Milotec lower grills on Friday but as I was pushing the center one into place noticed that the radiator rocks by a good 1cm at it's base!

Assume it's just the radiator bushes/mounts that I think are quite a common failing on the Octy vRS...?

Does anyone know how easy they are to change? Can you just unbolt it and lift it up to slide the new ones on without having to disconnect it?

Anyone?

It is common.

Simple fix is to jam some rubber or fibrous pipe lagging under it to stop the movement.

I did a quick search on the forum and saw that some had managed to stop the shake by bracing the radiator with rubber, but I can only see that working loose over time.

Have to phone the 'Stealers' again, who STILL have not got back to me.

Mine is braced with some old fashioned pipe lagging, not the modern polystyrene stuff but fluffy, fibrous stuff.

It is jammed in hard under the radiator and was there when I bought the car (20k miles ago) and is still in there.

If the movement is stopped it shouldnt work loose.

same on me own, Im planning on using a rubber door stopper (wedge shaped) and self tapping it into the plastic shield below... ;)
