Hello lads, I bought a 2008 Octavia vrs TDI .. Something strange keeps happening and I dont know if any one has had the same problem, I have attached a video if youse wouldn't mind taking 2 mins to look at it, what's happening is I'd be driving along next thing a big DING and suddenly the tempature gauge starts dropping rapidly and the fuel gauge goes to --- miles left , bear in mind that its probably 15 degrees outside and half a tank of diesel in the tank.

Yeah,can see this would be rather concerning, whilst I haven't a clue as to why, would the ping noise be the same as when outside temp sensors sees 4 degrees or mileage range left reaches 85 ( ? ) miles, just a thought but if they both happened  at the same time ( in reality ) would the ping be accentuated ......

Yes that's exactly whatbthe ding is , I can't get my head around it at all , its happening more often than not now as well. 

Are you able to have any fault scanning in order something is discovered ?

As in plug diagnostics into the car?? No I'm yet to do that.
