What to look for 2.0T VRS 2007

Featured Replies

Hiya,

I used the search function and put in buyers guide octavia VRS but it didnt come up with any results strangely?

Looking at a 78k VRS, with apparent FSH and cambelt kit on last service.

Not very familiar with these cars, i normally stick with Landrovers.

Any one got some pointers on what to look for as the parkers buying guides are not very good.

Thanks

Not an expert here but I bought an 06 vRS a few months ago at 70k miles so I might be able to help a little bit. From what I've read the main things to look out for is carbon build up and ESC issues. If it has the ABS/ESC light on it could be very expensive to fix so I would walk away.

I average 24-27mpg driving in the city with the highest I've got so far being about 32mpg on the motorway. Worse mpg could be due to carbon build up although mine is probably due for a clean.

Issues I have found with mine are:

  • It has front and rear parking sensors which weren't working when I bought it. They work about 99% of the time now but sometimes randomly stop.
  • I don't know if this is to do with carbon build up, something else or just to be expected but It is quite jerky at low speed. In slow moving traffic when I lift off the accelerator or press it no matter how gently I do it it still jerks.

I would highly recommend it, It's a brilliant car. If you have anything else you want to ask, i'm more than happy to help.
